Meet the Care Manager
I began my role as an Extra Care Manager based at Dymond House in June 2018. I have over 19 years’ experience in Health and Social Care; my background mainly comprising of Learning Disabilities and Mental Health, however I decided to broaden my prospects within the field of Dementia. My qualifications to date include a Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership and a BSc Hons in Sociology.
I have a history of working successfully with complex individual needs, their families and a host of professionals that has resulted in outstanding outcomes. I am very passionate about addressing the needs of individuals to improve the quality of their lives. Having a strong working knowledge of the relevant legislation required for person centred quality care, enables this to happen by providing a service that works holistically to ensure safety and quality.
I am really enjoying my role here at Dymond House as no one day is the same; being able to see my clients on a daily basis is definitively one of the perks of the job as being able to interact directly face to face provides a great sense of job satisfaction. Also being able to see my team of support staff on site enables me to be available all of the time!
Dymond House is an Extra Care Scheme staffed by ACS staff 24 hours a day. Our staff provide a ‘Core’ Service to respond to unplanned emergencies, welfare checks and medication calls to clients within the building. We also have a ‘Flex’ team of staff who provide homecare visits to the clients in their own homes within the building for them to receive personal care, meal preparation, housework and laundry, as well as social inclusion to enable clients to access the community or have a bit of 1 to 1 time to alleviate social isolation. The benefits of extra care are that someone is on site 24 hours a day.
